I found this today on my upload page of my youtube account, I don’t upload much so when I decided to upload a video today I discovered that youtube lifted my time limit (which was 15 minute video for everyone) to apparently 4 hours which is max offered to partner accounts. You know what this means don’t you? I finally can upload all my sex tapes! Oh wait they are are all 2 minutes long, damn it!
I checked Youtube’s blog about it and they said this:
“Your creativity isn’t bound by a time limit, so why should your video uploads be? Back in July we raised the upload limit to 15 minutes for all users. Starting today, we’ll begin allowing selected users with a history of complying with the YouTube Community Guidelines and our copyright rules to upload videos that are longer than 15 minutes.”
So why me now? I guess unbeknownst to me I have been following community guidelines, all those trailers and Stargate videos must have not been copyright infringement, to be fair they are all promotional videos and such. It might be something granted randomly to old members who followed the rules. Chances are that soon everyone will have that privilege.
