Stargate Universe will not go down withoutta fight. Thats the latest news coming from the Showrunners of the show. Of Course, it hasn’t been the best week for the Stargate franchise, when Syfy announced its decision to cancel SGU. This even though expected thanks to low ratings, it still came off as a surprise to many. The producers even expressed their shock, they didn’t know they will be dumped on the sidewalk so quickly without at least a third season wrap-up. Shame on Syfy, the channel that converted itself into a superfluous launchpad for mediocre TV entertainment.
Brad Wright, the creator of SG-1, Atlantis and SGU, said a couple of days ago that he is in talks with MGM to try and convince them to give SGU some way of continuing its story. And now Executive Producer Joseph Mallozzi responding to fans’ questions, said that even though things aren’t looking too good, there is still a chance, only if fans show their support for the franchise, especially by paying for online downloads, DVDs or anything that will show MGM that Stargate is still profitable, some that that will cAnd then to ounteract what Syfy has done to hurt the brandname. SGU’s cancellation has also halted whatever progress their was on the Atlantis and SG-1 movies that were already being preped to move into production after MGM sorted out it’s financial mess. MGM is in the good now, only recently, and normally that would be good news for the movies but unfortunately not when SGU just got canceled. This is our reality now.
